When our current MI students learned about MI North Studio, they were excited there would soon be a "home base" for workshops and classes. Questions soon started coming in about technology, as our training in these areas has always been dependent upon partners sharing their technology and software with us at their locations. We have a classroom dedicated to technology training, and we envision hosting diverse courses ranging from screenwriting to video editing, post-production work, 2D and 3D animation, video game development, and more. This will meet help students learn and explore their potential further.
Our fundraising needs focus on two areas:
1. Enhancements at MI North Studio, including technology classroom completion, acquisition of software licenses to expand curriculum, post-production technology implementation, special effects makeup lab, and makerspace buildout to support training expansion into additional motion media trades.
2. Scholarships to support anticipated growth in the number of students supported per year, including individual student tuition scholarships and group tours scholarships that would reduce costs for Title 1 schools.
