Student Needs
Professional Development
To encourage professional growth, we encourage our students to take advantage of opportunities like attending conferences and local events that will help them expand their networks which may lead to career advancement. In 2023, we invited graduate students to attend the Prospanica conference. Interested students who could attend paid $300 for registration in addition to travel expenses.
This year we would like to expand this incredible opportunity to more of our graduate students who may have financial barriers preventing them from attending. A generous gift of $300 will pay registration costs and make this experience accessible for a student who would like to advance their career.
Scholarships
Graduate students at UNT Dallas can receive merit scholarships if they meet eligibility requirements upon admission. The average standard academic scholarship allotment per student is a minimum of $1,500 or maximum of $3,000 per academic year. In addition, opportunities for continuing graduate students to obtain scholarships while completing coursework are even slimmer in comparison to undergraduate students. Currently, 5 of the 15 scholarships available for continuing students accept applications from graduate students.
A graduate student attending a semester full-time at 9 credit hours may potentially expect to pay over $6,000 annually. Therefore, a gift of $8,000 can cover tuition, fees, and part of the cost for books and supplies for a deserving graduate student who needs the financial assistance. Your generosity can shape our future leaders and decision-makers in industries like business, criminal justice, education, mental health, and public affairs.
