Our Mission
In the UNT Dallas School of Education, we serve tomorrow’s high-quality educators, cultivate the potential of educators through partnerships within their communities, and make a prominent impact on the teacher pipeline through transformational educational experiences and opportunities that provide upward mobility.
We Empower Future Educators
It is imperative, during this time of a teacher shortage, that we engage in rigorous and engaging coursework to best prepare teachers for the 21st century. During a time of concerns about safety in schools, issues of discipline, parental involvement, and social unrest, our teachers will be prepared through fieldwork and high-quality classroom experiences provided by a dedicated group of faculty members. - Dr. Christine M. Remley, School of Education
We not only prepare our students for careers in education but also prepare them to serve in linguistically diverse communities in the North Texas region and beyond. We strive to strengthen area school districts in the UNT Dallas community with high-quality teachers who will ultimately serve under-resourced youth.
We celebrate and appreciate the dedication of the students to the field of education. Our photo album links will give you a glimpse of our future educators who will teach in North Texas area school districts.

Our Impact
Our students gain valuable field experience in school districts such as Cedar Hill ISD, Dallas ISD, DeSoto ISD, Garland ISD, Grand Prairie ISD, Irving ISD, Lancaster ISD, and Mesquite ISD. Students who complete our programs graduate fully certified to teach in different areas of Texas.

Student Needs
Your generous gift can make a profound impact on the professional field experiences of our education students in one or all of these areas.
Teacher Residency Emergency Fund
Student Teachers are responsible for transportation to and from their student teaching campuses, and the field experience requires the time commitment of a full-time job that is often unpaid. Many of our students may use their personal or family vehicle, carpool, or ride-sharing services to travel to their destinations which may place a financial strain on them and their families. We are seeking a major gift of $45,000 to help us provide three (3) $15,000 stipends to students in dire need of completing their final semester of the program.
Certification Exam Vouchers
A gift of $120 can assist a student in paying for their certification exams required by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
Professional Development & Networking
Lastly, we seek to send our students to local conferences such as the Bilingual-ESL Education Association of the Metroplex (BEAM) and MiniCAST by the Science Teachers Association of Texas, to provide valuable networking opportunities that can lead to employment. One $50 gift can pay a student's registration fee for one of these learning experiences.
