A life long dream is becoming a reality for Flamenco Fever's Director Julia Alcántara!

The Flamenco Fever mission makes it clear, that our community should have the opportunity to learn, participate, regularly access, and reap the scientifically-proven rewards of the mental, physical, and spiritual benefits that music and dance provide.

La Cantera Arts Conservatory is a place where the community will be able to come together and celebrate life through music, dance, and art. For decades, the driving force behind Flamenco Fever, Founder and Executive Director, Julia Alcantara, has dreamt of having a multi-use space that could serve the community through a wide range of arts and events programming. That dream is finally coming to fruition. Through a new partnership with a local commercial real estate broker, lower-priced and free studio space for dance and music classes will be made available for instructors and students of historically underserved South Dallas.

Flamenco is an art form for the downtrodden, it blends the complex musical styles of Roma, Jews, and Moors–it is the art of the persecuted peoples of the Spanish Inquisition. Flamenco has been used for centuries to work through oppression, and it still resonates today. In this spirit, FF is poised to connect with even more of our Dallas community through the most exciting development for Flamenco Fever in several years: the opportunity to have a brick-and-mortar location.  ICB Properties is donating offering space in one of its Oak Cliff shopping centers to host Flamenco Fever activities to be named La Cantera Arts Conservatory.
