The MINT Foundation provides our community's most vulnerable in Southern Dallas and Ellis Counties, taking on the effects of poverty and helping all those in crisis to be self-sustaining. For 15 years, The MINT Foundation has been a catalyst in the community to Mentor, Inspire, Nurture, and Train under-served families and at-risk youth by providing a continuum of services, including emergency aid, basic needs, educational services, mentoring, and community resources. The MINT Foundation impacts more than 10,500 families annually. Eighty-nine percent of the families served by The MINT Foundation are predominantly minority, but we believe in providing support to everyone in our community who is often forgotten. We aim to empower the community and end generational poverty, inspiring all to strive for a better future.
The MINT Foundation Services
The MINT Food Pantry
The Food Pantry, a cornerstone of our community, provides healthy food and eradicating food insecurity. Our program, which supports self-reliance and empowerment, provides qualified families with up to a month's supply of food each month. The impact of our Uplift Saturdays initiative is significant, as it addresses basic food security needs and enhances the overall quality of life for our community members.
The MINT Senior Meals Program
The Senior Meals program, a lifeline for many, offers crucial support to seniors and senior living centers in southern Dallas County. By providing at least one nutritious meal a day, five days a week, we significantly improve their nutrition, helping them maintain their health and independence.
The MINT Emergency Financial Assistance Program
Our Emergency Financial Assistance program is a beacon of hope for low-to-moderate-income households. It offers a safety net to prevent homelessness or housing instability. We empower our participants by providing support for housing costs and utilities, instilling hope, and encouraging them to strive towards self-sufficiency.
The MINT Housing Stability Program (GROW)
The GROW Program gives hope and encouragement and offers comprehensive services to enhance financial and housing security in the long term. By focusing on self-sufficiency and mindset change, we equip individuals with the necessary tools and support to improve their economic stability and secure housing, ensuring a brighter future for our community.
The MINT Youth Financial Literacy Program
The Youth Financial Literacy Program helps young people learn essential financial skills such as managing money, building credit, budgeting, and investing. This program prepares them to be self-sufficient adults and equips them with the skills needed to become entrepreneurs.
THE MINT Mentoring Program
The MINT Mentoring Program pairs mentors with youth to boost their academic success, self-esteem, and social skills while helping them avoid high-risk behaviors. Mentors support the youth in reaching their potential. The MINT Foundation also offers health and wellness activities and nutrition classes for our youth throughout the year. These enrichment programs aim to end generational poverty and narrow the wealth gap.
