$70,000 Goal

WOW!!! Thanks to our generous supporters, we’ve reached $60,000! But why stop there? Let’s aim higher! Help us reach $70,000 to serve even more children and families in our North Texas community.

The WARM Place was blown away by the early support for North Texas Giving Day this year! We were honored to be selected by The Morris Foundation to receive a $20,000 matching opportunity, and thanks to our generous supporters, that match has been fulfilled! THANK YOU!

The WARM Place provides peer support groups for children and their families after the death of a loved one. For 35 years, The WARM Place has companioned over 48,000 children and family members along their grief journeys. Currently, 398 families, which includes 556 children, participate in the in-person and virtual peer support groups, with an additional 100+ children on the waitlist ready to receive services. There is never a fee for services, no geographical limitations on service area, and no time limits--families are welcome to participate as long as they feel they are benefiting from the program.

We also provide supplemental opportunities to support children and families with grief. Like our peer support groups, all additional program offerings are provided at no cost to the families enrolled. Click on the What Else tab to learn more!

Did you know that in Texas, 1 in 13 children will become bereaved due to the death of a parent or sibling by age 18? (Children's Bereavement Estimation Model). Experiencing a significant death during childhood often results in profound stress and adversity that can derail a child's development without appropriate support. This is the impact of grief in a child's life, and this is why The WARM Place exists - to help children navigate the difficult emotions that accompany grief and give them the tools they need.

Since 1989, we have served over 48,000 children and family members and have never once asked any clients to pay a fee while in the program. The WARM Place is supported solely through private donations and grants, and the Board of Directors and staff are dedicated to pursuing the necessary funds to sustain our unique program as it fills a critical need in the community.

DONATE - Will you help us reach our goal of raising $70,000 so that we can continue providing these critical services to families in our community? We rely on supporters like YOU to make our mission possible!

VOLUNTEER - Help children find hope and healing through rewarding volunteer opportunities at The WARM Place! From assisting with group night potluck dinners to working directly with the children, volunteers serve as companions for children and families along their grief journeys, and we couldn’t do it without them! Indicate on your North Texas Giving Day donation that you are interested in volunteering, and we will reach out to you!

Thank you for investing in the mission of The WARM Place! We remain the only agency in Tarrant County solely dedicated to children's bereavement, and we appreciate your support in making our critical services available to all North Texas families!

Mission

The mission of The WARM Place is to provide year-round grief support services to children ages 3-and-a-half to 18 and their families, as well as young adults ages 19 to 25 who have experienced the death of a loved one. We believe that no child should ever have to grieve alone.

Equity Statement

The WARM Place affirms the worth of every individual. Grief is a universal experience and does not discriminate. As we have since 1989, we stand by our mission of providing grief support to children and their families at no cost to them. We welcome and support all individuals and are committed to providing a warm, equitable, and inclusive environment.
