Unity Unlimited is more than an event-based organization. While Juneteenth Strong and Opal’s Walk for Freedom are among our most recognized initiatives, they are part of a much broader mission.
Since 2000, Unity Unlimited has worked to overcome racial and cultural division by providing educational activities, community resources, and meaningful connections that foster unity and harmony—regardless of race, culture, or denomination.
We believe freedom must extend beyond a moment in history or a single annual celebration. True freedom means having the ability to care for your health, live in safe and stable housing, pursue an education, build financial security, thrive in a strong community, and participate in the decisions that affect your life.
This commitment is expressed through our six Pillars of Freedom:
Together, these pillars connect historical awareness with practical community transformation. They guide Unity Unlimited’s programs, partnerships, advocacy, volunteerism, and investments as we work to make freedom a lived reality for individuals, families, and communities.
Juneteenth reminds us that freedom was delayed. Opal’s Walk for Freedom reminds us that freedom requires action. Unity Unlimited’s Pillars of Freedom help ensure that freedom continues to grow.
We educate for freedom. We walk for freedom. We advocate for freedom. We build for freedom.
Because freedom is not complete when people remain limited by poor health, food insecurity, inadequate housing, educational barriers, economic inequality, neighborhood disinvestment, or exclusion from the decisions that shape their communities.
It is not a Black thing. It is not a White thing. It is the right thing.
