Mission

Team IMPACT’s unique multiyear program matches children facing serious illness and disability with college athletic teams across the country. Our mission is to guide children and teams alike in a mutually beneficial relationship of belonging, empowerment, and resilience.

Through this program, our vision is to create a world where every child facing serious illness and disability feels supported by something bigger and every team is transformed by a greater purpose. When we’re all in together, we all win together.

Needs

It costs approximately $5,000 a year to make and manage each match – this includes outreach, training, case management, and student-athlete development. Our therapeutic model focuses on the social-emotional detriments caused by a serious diagnosis by building self-esteem, resilience, and sense of belonging. Through the match experience a child and their family gain more than a team, developing a bond with the student-athletes that far exceeds the playing field and extends into everyday life. In addition to the kids attending practices, games and other team activities, the student-athletes spend time with their courageous young teammates in the hospital, their classrooms, at their birthday parties, trick-or-treating and more. The child and family gain lifelong friends to support them through treatments, celebrate milestones, and make meaningful memories together. For Team IMPACT, investing time and resources into ongoing training and leadership development for our families and student-athlete participants is critical to our overall program success.

In order to reach our year over year program growth goals and serve children and teams waiting to be matched, we need to increase funding regionally and nationally. Donations will directly impact the resources we can provide to our program participants, increasing quality and quantity of matches made in 2024 & 2025.
