North Texas Area Community Health Centers, Inc. (NTACHC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that was started by a group of concerned area residents, faith-based groups, and health and social services providers in 2002 to provide medical care for the medically underserved on the Northside of Fort Worth and Tarrant County. The chronic disease burden was disturbingly high in certain regions within the service area, in a large part as a result of the socioeconomic challenges faced by the community.
Twenty years later, NTACHC has three locations in Tarrant County (Arlington, Southeast Fort Worth and Northside Fort Worth) in areas that are designated as medically underserved areas. NTACHC's capacity to continue meeting the growing numbers especially at the Northside Community Health Center location, where in September 2018, NTACHC opened its new 33,800 square foot Northside Community Health Center located at 2332 Beverly Hills Drive. In August 2024, Arlington moved to a new location to better serve more patients.
The Northside Center offers comprehensive primary care services (adult, pediatric and women's health) for acute/preventative/chronic conditions, behavioral health care, a vision center, diabetes management, lab services, walk-in clinic and an in-house pharmacy, including a drive-through. In addition to our healthcare services, it also offers medical-based education programs for patients who have chronic diseases, specifically diabetes, and other educational classes to improve overall health. NTACHC continues to grow and has plans for dental, podiatry and other specialties as well as expanding all services to all three locations.
NTACHC offers a coordinated team-based approach to healthcare, in which a team of medical professionals work together to provide our patients with primary health care (acute, chronic and preventative) and assist in arranging appropriate care with other qualified professionals and/or specialists to ensure continuity of care. They work closely with patients and their families to understand and respect their unique needs, culture, values and preferences, along with helping them learn to manage and organize their care at the level they choose. The teams at NTACHC include physicians, physician assistants, nurses, medical assistants, pharmacists, social workers, and educators. This model results in more personalized, coordinated, effective and efficient care.
