KLB's focus on sustainable programs, volunteer engagement, and community improvement make a difference by providing hands-on volunteer opportunities, education, and environmental resources to the community. KLB Volunteers make a difference in our community by helping with conservation and beautification projects that plant trees in local parks, seed native wildflowers, create pollinator habitats around town, keep our roadways and waterways clean through cleanup programs, and engage community members with hands on environmental projects. On average, KLB volunteers contribute more than 10,000 volunteer hours annually, and remove 30 tons of trash from local parks, waterways, and community spaces.
KLB's educational programs provide free community classes and resources for adults and youth to make a difference in their local environment. KLB also hosts environmental grant opportunities and youth scholarships for environmental stewards. KLB's active approach to environmental education and engagement through community programs help to make Lewisville a better place to live, work, and play.
The Mission of Keep Lewisville Beautiful is to engage the citizens of Lewisville through service and education to enhance their community environment.
Current needs include:
$2,500 for technology and software updates for volunteer management programs.
$2,000 for Spring Cleanup and Trash Bash event volunteer supplies (litter grabbers, gloves, safety vests, and gloves) to provide volunteers the tools they need at special events.
$3,000 for beautification and community improvement programs to purchase wildflower seeds and native trees to be planted in local parks, greenbelts, and trail systems.
$2,000 to help provide educational classes to the community on sustainability and gardening topics that help residents conserve resources, create pollinator habitat at home, and grow their own food.
$2,000 to support youth grants for environmental projects to beautify and green our community.
$2,000 for marketing purchases to update our organizations branding, tabling, and outreach needs.
$500 to support our little native seed library, plant and seed swap programs, and educational outreach.
Throughout our work, we support what makes our communities unique, including race, ethnicity, culture, socio-economic background, gender, sexual orientation, age, and physical ability. We commit to aligning our culture and operations to be a beacon of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
KLB programs are enhanced when we are fully engaged with all people in the community that we serve, and we strive to create programs, events, and educational and volunteer opportunities where everyone feels welcome, included, and safe while volunteering.
