My story...

I’m a Mexican; immigrant in the US since 2012. Woman of color. I've experienced the challenge of acculturation and language barriers. As a cancer survivor myself since 2013, sometimes, I have dealt with a system prescribing without considering my culture, ethnicity, socioeconomics, and my roots. These play a vital role in making decisions to save lives!

I started Rosa Es Rojo in response to a hunch during chemotherapy. First, I witnessed how Hispanics needed empowerment. Then the statistics confirmed it: a healthier lifestyle prevents cancer and other chronic diseases.

My personal story, my moments of obligation, allows me to connect with other Hispanics, empathize, and above all, act and influence other decision-makers. I believe that we’re here to SuperVive, not only “survive.” SuperVive means to live healthier, with dignity and the resilience to THRIVE!

ROSAesROJO - Our mission, purpose and vision

ROSAesROJO makes wellness and cancer prevention accessible to Hispanic women and their families in the United States. We educate them on the topics of nutrition, mental health and physical activity, using Cultural Humility and Community Care as part of our social innovation.

ROSAesROJO contributes to dismantle income, language, and education barriers to health and well-being for Hispanic women and their families.

Today, you can help Hispanic women on their path to wellness and cancer prevention through our programs The Rojo Way (workshops/1:1 mentorship) and SuperViVe-Comunidad (online community app) in Spanish, using culturally relevant content.
