The "Why" Behind CHEW Animal Hospital

Every day, I see families finding hope at CHEW when their beloved pet faces critical situations. These families often search desperately for a place to care for their cat or dog, only to be turned away because they don’t have the money. This is why I started CHEW — to provide essential medical services, from advanced diagnostics to critical care, treatment, complex soft tissue surgeries and orthopedic procedures, regardless of a family’s financial situation.

I’ll never forget the family whose pet was hit by a car. They were desperate for help, but due to financial hardship, their only option was to say goodbye. My heart broke, knowing this didn't have to happen. Three years later, CHEW Animal Hospital opened its doors.

The journey has been challenging. I never imagined how many would need our help or how difficult it would be to spread awareness of our mission and the urgent need for donations. Like other hospitals, we have endless bills, salaries and constant inventory to replenish. But we continue to keep our prices affordable, but for families who still can’t afford our low-cost services, we rely on the Compassion Fund to provide the care they need.
