Support the Dallas Jr. Wheelchair Mavericks!

Hello friends and family! Another season of wheelchair basketball begins and the Dallas Junior Wheelchair Mavs would be grateful for your support! The DJWM is the only competitive youth wheelchair basketball team in the Dallas/Fort Worth region. There are over 50 kids in the program and our amazing coaches, including a Paralympic gold medalist, are ALL volunteers. 🥇🥇🥇 The time commitment is monumental and a couple of our coaches have been with the program for 15+ years.

Sports options for kids with physical disabilities are limited and almost never school-based. If you value the myriad benefits of team sports, PLEASE consider donating. 🙏

Here is where your support goes:

🏀 Chairs! 1 sport wheelchair costs $4,000-5,000

🏀 There are 4 teams, 3 of which travel nationwide for tournaments - Prep (12 and under) and 2 Varsity teams (13-19). Entry fees for tournaments are approximately $8,000-10,000 for the year.

🏀 Gym rental fees for practices, as well as tires, tubes and other equipment needed to maintain and repair wheelchairs

🏀 Scholarships so all eligible players are able to participate, regardless of their financial circumstances

There is a pass to play policy AND many of our athletes go on to play for the handful of universities that have competitive wheelchair basketball teams.
