Help Jamaica Empower Loving Families!

A few months ago, I made the transition from teaching to working at Hope Cottage. I love teaching, but I wanted a chance to use my knowledge and skills to help folks in my community. Though I have only been here for a short time, I am thrilled to be a part of an organization that does so much to support families.  A major part of our 106-year history is centered around adoption, and I am proud to work at a place that doesn't discriminate against the LGBTQ+ community- something that is actually legal to do in the state of Texas. In addition to adoption services, we also have programs for parental education and support, foster care, and post adoption services. On any given month we give out more than 20 thousand diapers to families in need, place foster children in loving homes, and help people re-establish and maintain family connections.

$20 provides diapers for a family in our community-based parenting education classes

$50 provides post-adoption counseling for families

$100 provides a session of parenting education for families

$500 provides Trauma-Informed training for new foster parents

$1500 supports the full training and licensing process for a new foster family to serve kids in crisis
