I have been volunteering at First Street Mission during grocery service for 13 years . I'm proud of the work I get to do there, because of helping people feed their families.
For the past two years we have been working to deepen the impact of our organization, with the goal of providing the kind of relationship-based social support that can end homelessness and/or poverty, one guest at a time.
This year for North Texas Giving Day, the Mission won a grant that will match dollar-for-dollar everything we raise, up to $20,000. My personal goal is to raise $1,000 from friends and family to support this effort.
