A Heartfelt Appeal to Keep Our Mission Alive

My name is Valerie Kelso, and I am the founder of the Purple Light Touch Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to helping women and young girls recover from trauma. For Nine

years, I’ve devoted myself to this mission, offering a safe haven for those who have suffered in silence and providing them with the support they need to heal and rebuild their lives. Today, I find myself in a situation I never expected—one where I need to ask for your help to keep this vital work going.

Recently, I was involved in a serious car accident that left me with severe injuries, including fractures to my jaw, eye, and head. While the doctors managed to stop the bleeding in my head, my skull remains cracked, and I now face the daunting prospect of extensive medical treatment, including surgery to repair my fractured jaw. The injury has left me unable to eat solid food due to severe nerve pain, and I’m living with constant discomfort that I hope surgery will alleviate.

This accident has turned my life upside down. The freak occurrence of my own car malfunctioning and running me over has left me struggling to cope with the aftermath, of the medical expenses I now face.

As the founder of Purple Light Touch, I’ve always been committed to supporting women and young girls navigating their own battles with trauma. I understand their pain because I’ve lived through my own experiences of hardship and recovery. My work has been more than just a job; it’s a calling, a mission I’ve dedicated my life to. I’ve seen firsthand the incredible strength and resilience of the women and girls we serve, and it’s been my greatest honor to walk alongside them on their journeys to healing.

But now, I find myself in the humbling position of needing help. The injuries I sustained in the accident have left me unable to work, and without my income, I can no longer support the foundation as I have in the past. The thought of our work being interrupted, of the women and girls who depend on us being left without the support they need, is devastating. I am doing everything I can to recover quickly, but I face a long road ahead, and I know I cannot do it alone.

This is why I’m reaching out to you, our community, our supporters, and anyone who believes in the importance of our mission. I need your help to keep the Purple Light Touch Foundation open and running during this challenging time. Your support will ensure that the women and girls who rely on us will continue to receive the care, guidance, and resources they need to heal and move forward in their lives.

I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to those who have already reached out with words of encouragement, prayers, and support. Your kindness has been a beacon of light during one of the darkest times in my life, and it has given me the strength to keep fighting. I am incredibly blessed to have such a compassionate and caring community around me, and I am confident that with your help, we will get through this together.

In closing, I want to reiterate how much this foundation means to me and to the many women and girls we serve. Purple Light Touch is more than just a charity—it is a lifeline for those who are struggling, a place where they can find hope and healing. I am committed to continuing this work for as long as I am able, and with your support, I know that we can overcome this challenge and continue to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and for considering a donation to help keep the Purple Light Touch Foundation open and running. Your generosity will not only help me recover but will also ensure that our mission of healing and empowerment continues to thrive. With heartfelt gratitude,
