The Welman Project is a Fort Worth-based nonprofit on a mission to fill a classroom, not a landfill! Through creative repurposing of surplus business waste, they give teachers the tools and support needed to provide vital hands-on learning opportunities to every student.
The Welman Project has three programs that serve the community:
A free educator warehouse full of unlimited free materials and curriculum-enhancing creative reuse ideas
A community store for makers and families to get affordable arts & craft supplies and support local artists
A makerspace with tools and workshops that empower everyone to explore their creativity
“I always find things I can directly use in the classroom. Our school and my 600 elementary students, PK to 5th grade, benefit daily from the items we have found at The Welman Project. Thank you so much for being there for us all!”
This summer alone, The Welman Project gave away $974,500 worth of supplies, filling 4,086 classrooms with the tools for a successful school year. Since 2017, they’ve distributed more than $10 million worth of materials to educators across North Texas and beyond.
And it couldn't have been done without the community's support! To meet the growing needs in our local schools and expand their impact on educators served year-round, The Welman Project needs your support this North Texas Giving Day.
"I cannot thank the volunteers and donors enough for providing us a space to help create positive and creative environments in our classroom. I have been able to successfully provide my students with the tools they need for both school and academic extracurricular activities."
Donating to The Welman Project ensures their ability to continue providing holistic support to thousands of educators in our community through free makerspace access for classroom projects, free professional development, and unlimited classroom materials. Make a gift today and help continue to fill a classroom, not a landfill!
