Goodwill Industries of Dallas' mission is to help persons with barriers recognize and reach their full potential and experience a life filled with purpose, accomplishment, and self-sufficiency. 

Our Donated Goods program offers work through our West Dallas warehouse and 19 stores across North Texas while keeping millions of pounds of reusable and unusable items out of our landfills. Every dollar generated from our retail stores supports additional employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities and disadvantaging conditions.

As an employee of Goodwill Dallas, I understand the power of community. This year, my team’s North Texas Giving Day fundraising goal is to inspire 10 new donors to support the creation of a Life Skills Lab at our West Dallas Campus. The lab will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs) in our Day Habilitation Program who need assistance with functional life skills in their daily routines. Our unique program promotes independence through workplace skills and social competency training. Program participants spend 20 hours per week earning a wage and another 20 hours working towards personal development goals and practicing daily living skills. Our experienced Success Coaches work alongside participants to develop and maintain academic skills, build living skills, and improve social skills, including money management, menu planning, laundry, cleaning, and cooking. This interactive learning space will provide hands-on learning experiences, increasing the opportunity for a more independent lifestyle.
