IYT Putting on the Show

Putting on a musical theatre show is an AMAZING opportunity for young people to develop confidence, poise, collaboration, creativity, self-discipline and so many more important life skills. Putting together a musical theatre production can be very expensive - sets, costumes, props, royalties, theatre rentals, etc. Irving Youth Theatre is an all-volunteer organization and our goal is to provide musical theatre performance opportunities for ALL young people in the DFW metroplex. We do not want a family's finances to prevent them from being a part of the show. We work hard to keep costs to a minimum, but the shows generally cost at least $10,000 - $20,000 to produce. We have been asking youth to pay a $30 script fee and to provide their own costumes.  Our fall show, Beauty and the Beast, Jr. is a LARGE undertaking with costume rentals and elaborate sets. We are raising funds to help defray the costs of the production and to allow us to produce future shows as well!
