In March 2016, I established DFW Refugee Outreach Services with the goal of mentoring. To adapt, refugee families must have access to mentorship programs and have their basic survival needs fulfilled. We were the first organization to start a mentorship program and, to date, have successfully mentored several hundred families. DFWROS differs from most state-run or sponsored programs because it emphasizes mentorship's power to newly arrived refugee families.

At DFWROS, we provide mentorship and feed with our ongoing food programs, dispense care to those with no resources, provide psychological support services, facilitate workshops that teach job development skills, and provide clothes for those who do not have adequate clothes. Once a new family arrives, DFWROS assigns a mentor to the family. Mentoring a family requires listening patiently to their needs and concerns every week. These mentors help families with many things, simple and complicated that many take for granted.

DFWROS aims to address pressing needs by providing comprehensive support, mentorship, education, and resource access. Our programs focus on language acquisition, skill development, mentorship, workforce readiness, and community integration. By addressing these needs, we empower refugee families to overcome barriers, become self-sufficient, and contribute positively to the community.

To fulfill our mission, we seek funding to sustain and expand our programs, ensuring that more refugee families receive the support they desperately need. Investing in DFW Refugee Outreach Services will directly impact vulnerable individuals' lives, fostering their growth, independence, and successful integration into the Dallas-Fort Worth community.

Together, let us address the urgent needs of refugee families and create a more inclusive and supportive society for all.
